Watch Now: Brad Pitt Eating…And Eating…And Eating…And Eating…

BAADASSSSS!   |

Brad Pitt Eating

Julia Roberts smiles. Tom Cruise runs. Brad Pitt…well he eats.

Movieclips has assembled a brief video montage of Pitt enjoying various foodstuffs and libations in movies like Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s trilogy, Johnny Suede, Troy, Burn After Reading, Seven, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Kalifornia, and The Mexican. The most time is given to Meet Joe Black, the movie best known for introducing the Grim Reaper to the joys of peanut butter. Thus a love affair for the ages was set in motion.

Check out the video below.

Watch Now: ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Fan-Made Opening Credits

BAADASSSSS!   |

The Dark Knight Rises

There hasn’t been an opening credits sequence on a Batman movie since the campy and interminable Batman & Robin. Christopher Nolan usually saves them for the end credits. But that didn’t stop Bat-fan and budding filmmaker Doğan Can Gündoğdu from fulfilling his vision of an opening credits montage for The Dark Knight Rises, Nolan’s farewell to Gotham City (but not the cinematic DC universe – he’s producing the new Superman movie Man of Steel).

You can watch the fan-made video here below.

Movie Review: Perfect Sense

The Movie God   |

Perfect Sense

Perfect Sense
DIRECTOR: David Mackenzie
WRITER: Kim Fupz Aakeson
STARRING: Eva Green, Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Stephen Dillane, Connie Nielsen
IFC Films
RELEASE DATE: US: February 3, 2012 (limited); UK: DVD Pre-Order; Also available on VOD services now

When it comes to difficult decisions, choosing which of the best-known apocalyptic scenarios—post-nuclear, zombie, viral, alien invasion, natural disasters, the rise of the machines, and so on—you’d rather deal with is probably about as difficult as they come. None of those sound very fun at all. Unless of course you’ve seen too many movies or played too many video games and think that you could flourish in such an environment, in which case I wish you the very best of luck, Mad Max.

One of the scarier of these scenarios is of course the viral apocalypse because, along with post-nuclear, it seems like it’s something that could actually happen some day, if we’re a very, very unlucky species. Numerous movies have been made on such an apocalypse—some looking at it as a sickness quickly spreading, while others fuse it together with the basic idea behind zombie apocalypses and unleash the fury of them both. But none of them (at least that I know of anyway) has a love story at its core. Which brings us to Perfect Sense.

Relativity’s Snow White Movie ‘Mirror Mirror’ Moves Its Release Date

Cinemumra   |

Of the two upcoming Snow White feature films, the one question mark remains Relativity and Tarsem Singh’s take on the tale, Mirror Mirror.

Only a few months away, the film already has spawned one of the worst trailers of recent memory—or at least one of the most laughable—and now, it’s even found itself a slight delay.

Rainn Wilson’s Dwight Schrute Getting An ‘Office’ Spin-Off

Cinemumra   |

Dwight Schrute

Color this writer far from shocked.

Deadline is reporting that NBC is looking to give their beloved character, Dwight Schrute from The Office, his own show with a mid-season 2013 debut being eyed.

Played by Rainn Wilson, Schrute is one of the most beloved characters on the show, particularly since Steve Carell left. Originally thought of as the leader of the pack of possible lead replacements, NBC appears to be going somewhere different with the character, making the fate of the show proper something of a question.

UPDATED! Video: Matthew Broderick Becomes Ferris Bueller Again For Super Bowl Commercial

The Movie God   |

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

A very short preview of what appears to be Matthew Broderick jumping back into his most famous character, the title role in 1986′s Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, for an upcoming Super Bowl commercial has found its way online.

What the commercial is for or what Bueller might be up to is not yet know, but he appears to be in a rather lovely hotel. Has he gone on to make millions as most would have expected him to do, or is he just up to his old tricks, using his charm to get what he wants? Will his best friends be making cameos? Who knows!

Monty Python To Reunite For ‘Absolutely Anything’

The Movie God   |

Monty Python

Before you get too excited, no, Monty Python is not officially reuniting for some more Flying Circus action. It does appear, however, that the remaining members of the legendary comedy troupe will once again be combining their talents for an upcoming movie titled Absolutely Anything, which is set to be directed by Pythoner Terry Jones.

The movie will be a sci-fi comedy that combines live action and CGI. It tells the story of a group of aliens who choose a human to give the incredible power to do, well…quite literally absolutely anything just to see how badly they mess things up with their new abilities. At the moment, other Python members John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, and Michael Palin have all agreed to take part, and producers are currently talking to Eric Idle about joining. And who will the gang play? You guessed it, they’ll be voicing the aliens who give the human this power.

DVD Review: ‘Godzilla’ [The Criterion Collection]

Cinemumra   |

GodzillaGodzilla
DVD | Blu-ray
Directed by Ishiro Honda
Starring Takashi Shimura
The Criterion Collection
Release date: January 24, 2012

Yes. Throughout their history, The Criterion Collection has been the bastion of the purest of pure arthouse and intellectual cinema. Be it their presence on home video, giving the world class A copies of classics like The Seven Samurai or the greatest film ever made, a.k.a. Godard’s Breathless or their theatrical releases by backers Janus Film, who helped singlehandedly created the arthouse format. However, never let it be said that even they don’t like themselves a few genre films.

Gary Oldman Earns His First Oscar Nomination For ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy’

BAADASSSSS!   |

Gary Oldman

When the Academy Award nominations were announced on Tuesday morning many expected debates were sparked about who was left out and who shouldn’t have been nominated in the first place, but for one of the nominees in the Best Actor category, the announcement was a long time in the making.

Gary Oldman has been acting for more than three decades, and in that time he has aged gracefully from an intense and hungry young actor to a classy and dignified performer who can bring great amounts of gravitas to every character he plays. Oldman has played punk rock icons (Sid & Nancy), classical music icons (Immortal Beloved), literary villains (Bram Stoker’s Dracula), grotesque villains (Hannibal, Leon, True Romance), not-so-grotesque villains (Air Force One), and many others. In recent years he has enhanced his acting resume with prominent roles with in the blockbuster Batman and Harry Potter franchises. In 1997 Oldman made his directorial debut with the acclaimed indie Nil By Mouth.
